Fundraiser?
For those of you in the swing world that haven't heard this already;

Noelle Gray (from CT) was diagnosed with breast cancer recently. She is presently battling breast cancer and has given much to the Swing & Blues Dance Community here and abroad. A New Haven resident, she has taught many Swing and Blues Dance Classes. She has already undergone surgery and endured pain & indignation when her health insurance company forced her home from the hospital prematurely, against the advice of her Doctors.

Our friends at the CT Swing Dance Society CTSwing (CSDS) are dedicating their September 8 Swing Dance to Noelle Gray and we would like to do the same. Proceeds from this Saturday's dance at the Jack Purcell Community Centre will go to Noelle to help with her recovery expenses.

If you can't make it to the dance, you may send a check payable to CSDS and put "Noelle Gray" in the memo. Any amount is acceptable and 100% will be donated to Noelle.

Send checks to:
CSDS

If you'd like to send something via paypal, here's the address:

Note: "Noelle Fundraiser" in the payment so they know where it should be going.
If you've met Noelle once, you remember her. She's hilarious and sweet and she's one of us.

I've known her on and off for years and she always makes me smile when I see her. If you can help, please do.
Have fun and come out and dance for a good cause...

Not ready to have the night end?
Saturday Later Night Outing Suggestion:

The Rainbow Bistro is usually going strong till 2 am.
Tonights band is Jimmy Bowskill!

" Jimmy Bowskill, who lives in Bailiboro, Ontario, began playing guitar at the age of 10. When he was 11 he busked outside Jeff Healey's club in Toronto, hoping to be invited to join Jeff on stage. His wish was granted, and his career launched that evening. Now at 16 he has just released his third CD, "Jimmy Bowskill" and is touring with a bass player and drummer completing the musical trio. His incredible guitar technique and his strong free-flowing vocal skills, along with his volcanic temperament,exceptionally brilliant phenomenon in the world of Blues and Rock."

The Toronto Lindy Hop scene may remember hearing with Terri Wilkinson's bands back near the begining and man, from what I hear, he's only gotten better. (Mind you back then hearing a pre-teen voice singing oldies like "Kindhearted Woman" or "I Like Em' Fat Like That" was a bit... well lets just say I tried not to think about it. He has shared the stage with so many incredible and ledgendary artists and has had such a whirlwind career thusfar. I'm not saying its going to be danceable, cause I don't know what music he's currently digging on BUT I will tell you is that I have been to a bunch of his shows through the years and have always had a good time.
